Final Entry for English. What Should My Grade Be?

My Final grade in English Class should be an A. My grade should be an A, because even though I may have owed Mr. Romero a couple of assignments in the past, and there for they were late, I still handed them in.

It might of seemed like I was never interested in what Mr. Romero had to teach me, but I truly was. My teacher, Mr. Romero, taught me simple skills like how to write persuasive essays, how to to include metaphors and similes into our sentences. Lastly, one of the third out of many things that Mr. Romero has taught us is the red, yellow, and green sentences. It might not have helped me in certain places, but I'm pretty sure that it helped others. Mr. Romero has his own way of teaching. I know every teacher does, but Romero's technique is different, and that's what makes him so unique while he's teaching.

Another reason why I think I should receive this in English is because I work hard. In the classroom I might joke around from time to time, but when I get into a room where there are no distractions, I'm all business. The only time when I might not complete an assignment is if I was absent or if I didn't understand what was assigned to me. If I got an A as a grade for English, it would not only make my mother happy for me, but it would make me feel proud of myself.

Furthermore, these past months have been a great experience for me, as well as my classmates. I feel like I haven't done certain things so that I could just earn the A on my own; which is why I am writing this essay. Then again, I know that I have done more than a lot of other people, which is why I think I deserve an A or at least a B, in Mr. Romero's class. If I don't get an A or at least a B in Romero's class, I will feel like all of this was just a waste of my time. I can not afford to get a C or under in this class or any other class for that matter.

In conclusion, no only would getting this A or B make my mother proud of me, but it would make me feel proud of myself and like I was a student at CHS for a reason. That reason being, getting a better education.

Should there be a age for sexual consent?

Many people might say that there should be an age limit for sexual consent, and I agree. There should be a age limit for sexual consent; just like how you have to be a curtain height to get on a specific ride at an amusement park. I have three reasons why I think this. My first reason is because, it can put you in danger. My second reason you could get pregnant. My third reason is it could interfere with school.

If there wasn't an age limit for sexual consent, then that is put your life in danger. There are many ways how this is putting your life in danger. For example, if there is a 25 year old male, and a 16 year old female, and the 25 year old male has a deadly sexually transmitted disease, and he doesn't tell the 16 year old female. You would would of just thrown away half of your life or less than half of your life. Another reason could be you might be in a situation where your lover might try and take advantage of you. For example, he/she might want to have sexual relations with you, but you don't feel like it at the time, and instead of just letting it go, he/she will decide to make have sex with them; rape you.

Which brings me to my second reason, getting pregnant. If you're having sexual relations with someone much older, and you take the time to trust them, they might take your trust for them for granted. By this I mean they might try and pursue you in to having sex without using a condom. Next thing you know, you have skipped a period. Which then means that there's a possibility of you being pregnant. When it comes down to this you only have three choices. Your first choice being to get an abortion. Your third choice being to keep it, and your second choice is giving your baby up for adoption. These three choices are very hard decisions to make. That why you would be better of by either being celibate or just waiting to have sex until you get to a responsible enough age that you know how serious the consequences are.

My last and final reason is that not having a an age limit for sexual consent can interfere with school. This situation can interfere with school in several ways, but one way is having to drop out. When you end up having to drop out of school, it will be because you're a teen parent struggling to make it in life. Life already isn't fare, why make it more difficult? Teen pregnancy only holds you back and keeps you from doing things that average teenagers do everyday. For example, getting an education, going to the movies, hanging out with your friends, etc. If you children at a young age, then it will be you who is missing out on a once in a life time chance.

In conclusion, no one should have to go through this phase in life, but unfortunately they do. If you learn from other's mistakes then you won't have to learn from your own. So what if you didn't plan on going to college, two wrongs don't make a right(not going to college and having a baby still doesn't make a difference).

Should Huckleberry Finn be Taught at CHS?

Huckleberry Finn should be taught at CHS for three great reasons. Huck should be taught at CHS because for one, it would be a great and new experience. Also, he needs and education. Not to mention, it could make him a productive and responsible college student.

Huck Finn could be shown a great and new experience, because Huck is from a town where there aren't any educational resources. Educational resources such as calculators, textbooks, computers, and etc. All of these things help you with Math, teach you about Social Studies, and help you look up information. Huck wouldn't know what to do with any of these resources, but at the same time he would learn how to use them, because hopefully somebody will teach him. I think Huck Finn would love an experience like this. Not only would Huckleberry Finn grow mentally, but as a person.

Not only should people who can afford to go to school get an opportunity, like this one, but so do people like Huck Finn. I think Huck needs an education because, it shouldn't matter who you are or where you come from, you should still be able to learn. I also think Huckleberry needs an education because learn how to manage money, he could be able to drive a car, and he wouldn't have to pretend to be other people. Also, if Huckleberry Finn got an education, he wouldn't have to always run away from his problems......he could just get a lawyer to solve them for him! Furthermore, if Huck was taught at CHS, he would get the chance of increasing his intelligence.

My last reason for Huckleberry Finn being taught at Constitution High School is because it could probably turn him into a productive and responsible college student/adult. A couple of ways of doing this would be teaching him the goods and the bads of the real world. Huckleberry still needs to learn how to product himself as a young man. If he came to CHS, he would get a lot out of it. Huckleberry Finn also needs to learn how to be responsible. Without responsibility, there's no organization, and that's what I believe Huckleberry Finn needs in his life.

In conclusion, Huckleberry Finn needs an education because of these three great reasons, new experiences, education, and get taught how to be productive and responsible. The three most common things that Huckleberry Finn needs in his life.
